Is it best to use an ICFP tool?

It is not unusual to hear people argue that using a tool to generate your Integrated Curriculum and Financial Planning data actually disempowers you. The argument is that if you use the tool to calculate the metrics then you can’t possibly understand how to change the metric. Or even, some would argue, you can’t understand what that metric means.
There is an argument that manual calculation can help you understand the metric at a deeper level. But why would you undertake around 40 calculations using your calculator, all of them involving up to eight-digit numbers and several processes, when you can click a button and a tool like ICFP.school completes the calculations for you. Using an ICFP tool also reduces the chance of error.
At TSO Education we have designed ICFP.school so you get the best of both worlds:
- The integrated curriculum and financial planning metrics are calculated automatically
- However, you can then book an appointment to speak to one of our consultants, many of whom are SMRAs, who can then help you to understand both what the metrics mean and what you can do to affect them.
So, using the right ICFP tool certainly makes sense.
